What We Collect

Country Rates collects minimal data to function:

• No Personal Data: We do not collect your name, email, or any personal information
• No Account Required: The app works without any registration or sign-in
• Local Preferences: Your selected home currency and country are stored locally on your device
• Exchange Rates: The app fetches daily exchange rates from our server and caches them locally

Location

Country Rates can optionally use your location to detect which country you are in:

• Optional: Location access is only requested when you tap "Where Am I"
• One-Time Use: Your location is used once to determine your country and is not stored or transmitted to our servers
• System API: Reverse geocoding uses your device's built-in geocoding service, subject to your platform provider's privacy policy (Apple, Google)

Analytics & Crash Reporting

To improve app stability and understand usage patterns, we use Firebase services:

• Firebase Analytics: Collects anonymous usage statistics (e.g., which features are used, app performance metrics)
• Firebase Crashlytics: Collects crash reports to help us fix bugs and improve stability
• No Personal Data: Analytics data does not include your location, currency preferences, or any personal information
• Anonymous: This data is anonymized and cannot be linked to you personally

Device Permissions

Country Rates may request the following permission:

• Location (When In Use): Optional. Used only for the "Where Am I" feature to detect your current country. You can deny this permission and use the app normally by selecting a country manually

Data Storage & Deletion

Your data is under your control:

• Local Only: All preferences and cached rates are stored locally on your device
• Easy Deletion: Uninstalling the app removes all locally stored data
• No Account Required: Country Rates works without any account or registration
• No Cloud Sync: Your data is not synced to any cloud service

Your Rights

Since all your personal data is stored locally on your device:

• Full Control: You have complete control over your data at all times
• Data Deletion: Simply uninstall the app to delete all data
• Permission Revocation: You can revoke location access in your device's Settings at any time

Third-Party Services

Country Rates uses the following third-party services:

• Exchange Rate API: Daily exchange rates are fetched from our server (apakabar.fm). No personal data is sent with these requests
• Platform Geocoding: System service for converting coordinates to country names. Subject to your platform provider's privacy policy (Apple, Google)
• Firebase Analytics: For anonymous usage statistics. Subject to Firebase Privacy Policy
• Firebase Crashlytics: For crash reporting. Subject to Firebase Privacy Policy

Children's Privacy

Country Rates is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected information from a child under 13, please contact us immediately.
